Apply to Sail
Participation in IODP expeditions is open to scientists, engineers, professors, research scientists, technologists, and graduate students from all IODP member countries. Each IODP expedition includes a staff of up to 30 scientists and engineers from the IODP Member countries.
IODP expeditions offer the possibilities to sail
1) on the JOIDES Resolution, a riserless vessel managed by the United States Implementing Organization (USIO);
2) on Mission Specific Platform operations managed by the ECORD Science Operator (ESO);
3) on the Chikyu, a rise drilling vessel managed by the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC)
