SHORT CALL: Onboard Education Officer/Teacher at Sea
There is an open call for teachers and educators from Canada and Europe to sail on the JOIDES Resolution during one of four upcoming IODP expeditions:
345: Costa Rica Seismogenesis Project 2: October 23 – December 11, 2012
344: Hess Deep Plutonic Crust: December 11, 2012 – February 10, 2013
341: Southern Alaska Margin Tectonics Climate & Sedimentation: May 29 – July 29, 2013
346: Asian Monsoon: August 20 – September 28, 2013
They are looking for applicants with strong educational and science backgrounds, comfort with using the web, multi-media and social media tools, and a passion for sharing the excitement of real science with students, other educators, and the general public.
