Extended CALL: Science Evaluation Panel

The Science Evaluation Panel (SEP) provides scientific and technical advice as one of the JOIDES Resolution Facility’s (JRF) advisory panels.
The panel is responsible for the evaluation and selection of proposals for drilling expeditions based on scientific impact, logistical feasibility, cost and completeness of the site survey data package.
ESSAC is specifically looking for two new members from ECORD member countries with experience in geohazards, seismology and/or sedimentology to serve in the Site Characterization Subgroup of SEP. We particularly encourage women and scientists from the UK and France to apply. A good overview of the structure and proposal process of IODP is advantageous.

The term begins June 2016 and the appointment is normally for three years (six meetings).

Please see the CALL for more information on the positions and application instructions.

IMPORTANT: Applicants must be NSERC-funded active researchers in Canada, or students/fellows working under the direct supervision of such researchers.  Candidates must send a copy of their application to the IODP-Canada Office (iodpcanada@gmail.com) before submitting their application to ECORD.  Applications will be reviewed by the CCOD Executive Committee.

CCOD internal review deadline: 29 January 2016
ECORD application deadline: 5 February 2016
