IODP Research Featured on Discovery Channel Canada
Discovery Channel Canada recently visited Japan to film a segment about earthquake research by scientific ocean drilling. Chief scientists of NanTroSEIZE and the upcoming IODP Expedition 343 Japan Trench Fast Drilling Project were interviewed as well as CDEX (Centre for Deep Earth Exploration) and the KCC (Kochi Core Centre) curator.
The segment was featured on the science program 'Daily Planet' in an episode called Japan: One Year Later, which aired in Canada on March 9, 2012. The one hour special on Japan's earthquake and tsunami highlights how the disaster took place, how people survived, and what is being done to prevent future disasters from occurring.
